Altea is called the 'pearl of the Costa Blanca' thanks to its white houses and little historical streets. Furthermore it holds the art department of the university of Elche (Alicante) and a conservatory. In the Palau both the art and the music come together on a regular basis. Because of all this Altea is know as an artistic or 'bohemian' town.

Besides this Altea also has quite a few beautiful beaches, 4 ports, mountains, and a year-round buzzing town life, and is located centrally between Alicante and Valencia.
